Gosford Anglican Church ‘supporting marriage equity’

NSW: The Gosford-based St Mary’s Anglican Church on NSW’s Central Coast has come out to declare its backing of same-sex marriage with a street sign proclaiming the parish to be “supporting marriage equity”.

The message was placed on the church’s sign board by parish rector, Father Rod Bower last Wednesday in what is thought to be the first public display of support for marriage equality by any NSW Central Coast church.

Bower, who has been with St Mary’s since 1999, told SX that he decided to create the message as he believes that the current media debate surrounding marriage equality misconstrues the opinions of Christians, including many within his own parish.
