Right now, in Australia, some people do not have the legal right to marry their soulmate.

The Marriage Equality Matters campaign tells the stories of people like you who believe that every Australian should have equal rights, and should have equal access to marriage.

Marriage equality is about participation in family life. We hope this campaign will make MPs aware that the issue doesn’t just affect couples who can’t get married, but also their friends, families and many others in the community.

You can be part of the campaign by:

- Telling your story and uploading your photos to the site;
- Support stories that people have sent in; and
- Joining the campaign and saying “I commit to Marriage Equality” on the right.

On October 12, the campaign will head to Canberra, when people will tell Federal MPs about their marriage story and why marriage equality is so important to them and to all Australians.

Men and women from across Australia will head to Canberra to ask why they can’t legalise their loving and committed relationship with the person they want to spend the rest of their life with.

To register your interest in joining this historic day, tell your story here – today.
